LINK TO THE ITINERARY

Because we are going on a big expedition next year, we don’t really have time to leave Germany for two months. Preparing for a three-year trip is a mammoth task, almost comparable to emigrating for good. Nevertheless, we urgently need a little rest and variety. It is also important for us to get to know our new expedition vehicle, which we have christened Terra Love, better. The tour to Sicily that we undertook at the beginning of the year was a good start. Above all, the fact that we were able to work our way up to the snow and ice edge of the Etna volcano, which was active at the time, showed us the vehicle’s potential. But before we embark on the 60,000 kilometer tour to Southeast Asia that lies ahead of us, we still have a lot to learn about off-road driving. One reason why we joined an off-road pioneer tour through the Wild East of Russia. We are extremely excited to see what we will experience beyond the Arctic Circle and how the Terra will perform.

And because we have to go to the far north to meet the four-wheel drive group at the Norwegian-Russian border, we combine our upcoming adventure with a trip to the North Cape. Since 1999, it has been possible to reach the northernmost point in Europe by road. Even if we would be more tempted to get there by bike or e-bike, we would find it very appealing to reach this highly interesting interim destination, which is almost 5,000 km away, with our mobile.

Due to the high density of demands and a late start, we finally set off, somewhat stressed. We cruise through Germany with our Terra via Leipzig, Hanover, Hamburg and Flensburg. Without really realizing it, we cross the open border into Denmark. We enjoy the drive through the flat countryside with its green meadows and reach the small harbor town of Hirtshals after approx. 1,200 km. As soon as we arrive, we take care of a ferry ticket to Norway. Until the ferry departs, we visit Northern Europe’s largest aquarium and marvel at the more than 7,500 fish. Especially the gigantic moonfish, which can grow up to 3.30 meters tall and weigh 2.3 tons…
