TEST DRIVE NORWAY & RUSSIAN POLAR CIRCLE - 2019

Offroad training

(Photos of the diary entry can be found at the end of the text).

In order to get fit for our future trip to Cambodia, we attended the off-road training organized by bimobil in Bad Kissingen. Numerous off-road trainers taught us how to maneuver the Terra unscathed through muddy water holes, over steep drop-offs, even steeper inclines, and along bumps and bumps. They taught us how to prepare for off-road driving, that the heavy load should always be loaded at the bottom, when and how to use the differential locks, when and why to deflate the tires, that you should always drive extremely slowly over and through obstacles, how to read a terrain, why you should wade through a ford on foot before driving through it, how and why you should always steer in the direction of the fall and much more.

It’s unbelievable what the IVEC 4×4 with its three differential locks can do. There is no doubt that it is important to attend at least one of these training courses. It is important to know what such a vehicle can do, what a popometer is and when it warns you in time not to sink such a valuable expedition vehicle into a ditch or let it fall off a steep slope…
