We spend a few days in the idyllic, beautiful little town of Hoi An to continue writing about our e-bike tour and to go on excursions to the coastal town, which was founded by the Cham in the 4th century. Because it is the only city that was spared by the Vietnam War, it has developed into a real tourist magnet in recent years.

Before we set off, we enjoy a delicious breakfast and interesting conversations with a German couple who are also traveling for many months at a time. Then we set off to visit another world that we have not yet seen in Vietnam despite our nine-month stay. It is the peaceful, touristy, old-fashioned, carefree life of a town decorated with countless lanterns and whose mostly deep yellow houses glow in the evening sun. Certainly one reason why UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site. Numerous rickshaws carry visitors from all over the world through the Southeast Asian metropolis, whose buildings are a fusion of indigenous, Chinese, Indian, Portuguese, Dutch and French peoples who have settled here over the centuries…
