Edgar tries to bite my head

Today’s training day is easier than the previous ones. Edgar and Jasper manage to get off at our command, just by pulling the neck rope and shooing down. They still do it with reluctance, but they do it. After a few exercises, I untie Edgar from the stake as a reward and lead him a few meters behind me. Only in the corner of my eye do I notice how his skull shits down and wants to bite my head. Pumped up on adrenaline, I whirl around on my own axis, raise my arms in the air and shout at him. Startled by my action, he pulls his head back. “Did you see that?” I ask Tanja incredulously, who is walking just a few meters next to me. “Yes, we really have to be careful,” she replies, visibly shocked. Jasper now makes bubbling noises and grinds his teeth, showing me how much the whole thing goes against his grain. “It’s all right, my boy. We won’t hurt you. In the end, you’ll be a proud expedition camel. You’ll be given an important task and become the bearer of water. What do you think of that?” I ask him, speaking calmly. He only reacts with wide eyes and we give him the day off. When I feed them in the evening, Jasper eats from my hand for the first time. He doesn’t seem quite as anxious as his mate (friend in Australian) and occasionally seeks us out.
