Busy time in Broome

Broome – 12.06.2001

First thing in the morning, I’m sitting with Peter at his computer. We dub a lot of our movies and spend most of the day talking about how we can work together and how he wants to manage to visit us in the desert from time to time. “We also need film clips where you can both be seen at the same time,” he says, thinking about when and where he can meet us. In the meantime, Tanja takes our Holden to a garage and has a new tire fitted.

Actually, this stay here in Broome is meant as relaxation before our big trip and now I’ve spent an entire day in front of the computer. Tanja is sad and I can understand her. Although we’ve been on the road for 11 years now, we haven’t had the opportunity to take a real vacation very often. Of course, our lifestyle means constant contact with nature, but as I said, there is often not much time to stretch out all fours and do absolutely nothing all day long. After dinner together on the beach, we make our way to Broome’s open-air cinema, which is worth a visit even without a movie screening. We are enchanted by a first-class Aboriginal film and are disappointed by the latest Julia Roberts and Brat Pitt movie at the second screening.
