RED EARTH EXPEDITION - Stage 1
We take the opportunity to practise knotting techniques
Day: 46-48
Heart Camp – 26.06.2000 – 28.06.2000
The next few days are relaxing. The barometer climbs upwards. The Australian winter sun warms the bush quite pleasantly. During the nights the thermometer drops below zero and on some chilly mornings a layer of ice covers our equipment. We take the opportunity to practise various knotting techniques, try out new creations for baking bread in the camp oven and I start reading a book about meteorology. Our radio informs us that our website has finally been updated and that the ‘L-frames’ and saddlebags are making good progress. On Wednesday evening, Petro brings the new L-frames to the camp. We are very happy and celebrate them with some of the beers we brought with us.
