Repair camp number two
Day: 08
Clackline-Camp – 19.05.2000
Since we will be staying here for at least two days, I called Melinda last night and asked her to pick up Jo with our Holden. She reaches our camp at 10 o’clock in the morning. We hug each other warmly and talk about our experiences. A little later, Jo and Melinda leave us. Jo goes home to visit Tom. She also takes Istan’s and Jafar’s saddles with her so that Tom can remove the dangerous, completely superfluous metal hooks. We are lucky that the one hook only caught Jafar’s saddle and not one of ours. Apart from that, she fetches water supplies, buys the ropes we still need, nails, gloves and wants to sew larger belt loops on my pants. Tanja and I spend the rest of the day alone in our camp 3. In the afternoon, I set up the satellite phone to give some interviews. Unfortunately, none of the radio stations call and I waste my precious time in front of the phone.
