The decision to stay an extra day was worth it for us. After writing about our experiences, we stroll through the once Hungarian town of Subotica on today’s beautiful late summer’s day and enjoy its own charm. We have a much better lunch in a Hungarian restaurant than in Hungary. Then we exchange some money and take a walk through the beautifully landscaped park in the center of town. We would love to stay another day, but we have to keep going. We have not yet decided which city will be the provisional destination for the first stage of our Trans-East expedition. If we make good progress, it could actually be Bucharest. But we’ll see what the next few days and weeks bring.
