Book and show short description
Tanja and Denis Katzer set off in July 2015. After traveling by train to Ulan-Ude in Siberia, they get on their e-bikes and cross Mongolia and China in 338 days. They cover 8055 kilometers and overcome a good 44,000 meters of altitude (comparable to five times the height of Mount Everest). They cycle in the Gobi Desert in enormous heat of 56 degrees Celsius and freezing cold of minus 25 degrees Celsius, always accompanied by their dog Ajaci.
The authors not only describe the physical exertions in wind and weather and on icy pass roads or potholed gravel and clay tracks, but also the correct energy management for e-bikes. Enchanting encounters with the always helpful population make this trip a fascinating reportage.
