Blizzard

At 4:00 o’clock in the morning I hear again snow is falling on our tent square. This time it is a patter whipped by the storm. I look outside to have a look how our horses go. Everything is white. Within short time the storm has brought several inches of snow and the winter to us. Trembling I go out of the tent to check the animals.

In the morning we hear outdoors bustle. “Do they make fire?” Asks Tanja. “I do not know”, I answer turning myself in the sleeping-bag. At 8:30 a.m. the hunger leads me out of the tent. I am amazed what I see there. Our companions have brought from somewhere a twice two-metre-wooden wall and are about to established it as a wind barrier. I help them to put up the thing. As a roof Bilgee takes a smaller wooden wall and stretches his poncho over it. “Now we have protection before the strong wind”, laughs Bilgee and lights under the protective roof a warming fire. Quick the water cooks in a pot which we fill in our thermos jugs.

Later Bilgee and Ulzii knead dough to prepare tasty dumplings. In spite of the snowy activity and the cold temperatures the morality is distinguished in our winter camp. Bilgee, is a sunny mind and knows how to help in every weather condition and always knows to make the best from every situation. So we spend in our 1,400 metre high-situated camp a harmonious time. Bilgee who is not only a survival specialist but also a good cook supplies us with hot water and even cooked well tasting creations. This man is simply unbelievable. And we are very lucky to have him with us.
