The barometer climbs steadily

Cleary-Camp — 2000-06-26 – 2000-06-28

The next few days are somehow relaxing.   The barometer climbs steadily and the bush is warmed by the pleasant australian winter sun.   During the night the temperatures sink to below zero and we often find a thin covering of ice over our equipment in the mornings.   We spend our time practicing various knots, experimenting with bread baking in the camp fire and I begin reading a book about meteorology.   We check the radio and learn that our web page has finally been updated and that the saddles and L-frames are coming along well. Petro brings the new L-frames into our camp on Wednesday and we celebrate with a few beers that he brought along for the occasion.
