Reaching Goomalling

Hulongine-Camp — 2000-05-31

In the morning, the dark clouds have dispersed, but the wind is still blowing strongly. We pack up and leave at 10:40. Walking is not as difficult today as it has been these past few days. All of us stride onwards undauntedly. Jafar hardly limps any more, the medication seems to help.
As early as 1:00 p.m. we reach our camp site behind Goomalling. We spend of the rest of the day by the campfire telling each other stories. Of course, I cannot help being a bit concerned about what the examination of my nose might reveal. I do hope it’s not cancer. Unfortunately I’m going to have to leave the expedition tomorrow for a few days. I’m glad we are still within inhabited terrain here. With every day further, a doctor visit would be more of a problem.
