For us, the driving experience on these narrow Moroccan country roads is far more than just a means of getting from one place to another &#8211; it is a journey in itself. We see leisurely travel as an integral part of our adventure, on a par with visiting sights, spending a relaxing day on the beach or lingering in dreamy places.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even after many months in Morocco, the constantly changing and always impressive landscape that surrounds us on these routes never tires us out. In the midst of this enchanting scenery, we cross small villages again and again. On a day like today, when a lively Saturday market is in full swing, the street becomes a vibrant center of life. Here, the passing street and the individual stalls merge into a harmonious dance of commerce.<br><br>We reach the coastal town of Safi, known today for its pottery. To park our Terra Love safely, we look for a campsite recommended by the travel guide and the Park4night app. We turn back and forth for a while until we finally find the completely deserted place&#8230;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>During our discovery tour through Safi, our path crosses that of Mouktar. Many stores are still closed on this Sunday morning. Surprisingly, the friendly Mouktar leads us into an inner courtyard and a hut where pottery is fired. &#8220;There&#8217;s 25 percent iron in our clay,&#8221; he says, pointing to his belt to make sure we understand him correctly. As we explore the nooks and crannies of the old pottery district, Mouktar explains with great enthusiasm how the works of art are created. Safi's pottery is particularly well known for its colorful ceramic wares and handmade tiles, which are often decorated with complex patterns and designs.  \n\nThe city of Safi is famous for its blue and white ceramics, which are often decorated with elaborate arabesques, geometric patterns or animal motifs. This traditional ceramic is often used for everyday objects such as plates, bowls, cups and vases.\n\nAnother feature of Safi pottery is the use of special glazes and glazing techniques, which give the ceramics a unique shine.
