Sam is a year older than me and gained his experience in his original home country of France. Somehow he ended up in a German animal shelter near us. He found his new home with friends of Tanja &amp; Denis just around the corner from us. &#8220;A lottery win&#8221; as Sam keeps telling me with a smile on his face. &#8220;I&#8217;ve already made good progress, now I&#8217;ve managed to get on the trip and Denis has arranged a caravan for me. It will even have a roof rack so that Tanja can take something with her,&#8221; I tell my good buddy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>          <span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">  Libert\u00e9! My dearest, you must remain independent. Freedom is everything and you can only do that with a rucksack, take it from an experienced dog!&#8221; And so we start to reminisce about the big wide world. Sam talks about his time in France, street caf\u00e9s, red wine, cheese and baguettes. There is a hint of lavender in the air, mingling with the smoke of a Gauloise and the conversations of passers-by.
