It is a journey the like of which has not been seen since Marco Polo. Denis and Tanja’s adventure began in 1991. They want to have reached their destination in South America in 2040: The end of their 50-year journey. (Longest documented expedition in human history.)<\/span><\/p>\n\n

“When Denis talks about his camel ride through Pakistan, the dangerous elephant cow Bawan-Kumari or the eternal expanses of Mongolia, I’m always an enthusiastic listener,” reports the talented musician and recording studio owner Romin Katzer. Inspired by his cousin’s adventures, the composer has now embarked on an expedition himself – an expedition of sounds. Let yourself be enchanted by this sensitive music. Immerse yourself in foreign deserts and steppes with the undulating waves of sounds and melodies. The music is also the background music for the DVD series “The Great Journey”.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

What does it mean to be on this earth?<\/strong><\/span>“As travelers, we have made it our mission to get as close as possible to our Mother Earth and her inhabitants in order to report on what it means to live on this earth.”<\/span><\/p>\n\n

In addition to their personal experiences, Denis and Tanja also look for the general aspects that affect us all: What does it mean for a person to breathe the thick smoke of a bushfire? How does it feel to listen to the rare howl of a dingo at night?<\/span><\/p>\n\n

“With our journey, we want to create an antithesis to a world that is overtaking itself even faster every day and increasingly forgetting itself in the process. We want to play our part in making people think back. To think about themselves again. Shift down a gear. Set goals that are worth achieving. In this disoriented world, we need to find our direction again. To do this, we must also dare to live our dreams. With this journey, we are realizing our dream in a world that tells us that what we are doing is impossible. But we are living the opposite! Our journey is a reminder that there are many great alternatives to work and supposed obligations, the accumulation of wealth and the stressed panting of the manager. Our journey is a great journey, an important journey for ourselves. It is a self-discovery, a self-awareness, a renewal, an exploration of our own psyche. We share our feelings and thoughts openly, unvarnished and honestly. If we can help to inspire empathetic reflection on human existence and Mother Earth, then our grueling expedition will have been worth it.”<\/span><\/p>\n\n
