\n It’s time for us to leave, but the Lake House holds us spellbound. Tony, the Australian owner, returns from Australia. We hit it off straight away and because he has traveled the world all his life just like us, has lived in Vietnam for almost 20 years, is married to Tanh, a Vietnamese woman, and built the hotel with her, we spend every morning having interesting conversations. “You should definitely visit the Dark Cave,” he advises, which is why we set off to explore another of the numerous caves. This time, with carabiners and a seat harness clipped onto the rope, you go down a rope slide high above the Con River to the other bank. Then swim to the cave entrance and through narrow reddish-brown crevices to a mud pool where numerous tourists enjoy themselves.
